Stability and Growth

Eykt began operations in 1986 and has increased its activities steadily in the domestic construction market, with ever larger projects. 

The company survived the "small depressions” of 2000/02 and the major economic collapse of 2008, and is now well equipped to take on new projects. The equity position of the company is strong, but domestic contracts have fallen sharply since 2008, as is the situation with other comparable construction companies.

Mr. Pétur Guðmundsson has directed the development of Eykt from the outset. He served as Managing Director and CEO of the company until 2005, when the current CEO, Mr. Gunnar Valur Gíslason, was called to the helm. Mr. Guðmundsson is now chairman and owner of the company Eykt.
